Love has an amazing way of finding us when we least expect it, and for Vanessa and Derrick, it all began with a chance encounter at Chick-fil-A in the late summer of 2018. Little did they know, that seemingly ordinary day would lead to a lifetime of extraordinary moments, including a breathtaking proposal and a timeless wedding day at Mission Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL.

Derrick's proposal was nothing short of magical. In August of 2022, he surprised Vanessa with a beachside declaration of love that left her speechless. A purple blanket, her favorite color, adorned the sand with a collage of their cherished memories, two throw pillows, and delicate lanterns. The setting sun witnessed a moment that would forever change their lives.

The couple chose Mission Resort for their wedding day, drawn to its historic charm and the absence of a typical hotel vibe. What sealed the deal for them was the convenience of an all-inclusive wedding package, bundling all necessary vendors into one seamless experience.

As Dreamscape Photography + Video, we had the honor of capturing the simple, timeless, and elegant essence of Vanessa and Derrick's special day. Despite the rain forcing the ceremony indoors, the atmosphere inside was as warm and radiant as the love shared between the couple.

Vanessa eagerly anticipated the moment she would walk down the aisle, adorned in a beautiful wedding dress, to meet her handsome future husband. Derrick, with his charming sense of humor, looked forward to celebrating their love surrounded by friends and family, although he cheekily admitted to looking forward to the food as well.

The Flower Studio Oxford graced the venue with stunning florals, creating a romantic and intimate ambiance that perfectly complemented the couple's vision. L3 Events orchestrated the day flawlessly, ensuring every detail fell into place, while Andy from Xclusive Deejays set the mood with a soundtrack that celebrated love and joy, and lots of amazing dancing.

Their wedding day, though marked by rain, unfolded like a fairytale. The genuine love and laughter shared between Vanessa and Derrick, along with the warmth of their closest companions, illuminated the resort with an undeniable magic. The rain outside only served to enhance the cozy atmosphere within, creating an intimate celebration that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
